From the preface
Christian men and women who were privileged to hear Dr. A. W. Tozer speak in his own pulpit Sunday after Sunday at the prime of his ministry can personally tell you of his zest for the truths in the Gospel of John.
Through the Spirit of God, Dr. Tozer could preach radiantly and refreshingly from a single chapter of the Gospel of John each Sunday for many consecutive weeks. Each verse and every text seemed to blossom forth with significant sermon subjects and helpful theological topics. He was so well versed in the broad teachings of the remainder of the Bible and in the devotional writings of Christian saints who lived long ago that his frequent sermons in John's Gospel never seemed to bog down into the provincialism of a single Bible book.
This volume, including as it does ten sermons from random texts in the Gospel of John, will indicate this gift of Dr. Tozer's--the God-given ability to speak with authority, to speak with significance, to speak with concern, to speak with a compelling point of view concerning the Truth which is in Jesus Christ, in support of a brief, gospel text.
The reader may not agree with every paragraph of every sermon. Just remember that Dr. Tozer was thoroughly an individualist--he would have been disappointed if everyone had agreed thoroughly and completely with him on all points!
