over the serene Friends' Burial Ground. The age of this vener-
able tree has been estimated at 500 years. When last
measured, it stood 88 feet high with a maximum circumfer-
ence of 30 feet. Its low, wide branching arms extend over a

The Fairfield Presbyterian Church was organized in 
1680. This building (the third church structure) was
completed in 1780 and used until 1850 when the
congregation was transferred to Fairton. Services
are now held Sunday evenings during the month of 
August.
